Business Continuity Manager is part of a new generation of business continuity products and offerings from Teradata.

Business Continuity Manager provides near real-time object and data synchronization to achieve Recovery Time Objective (RTO) of seconds and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) of minutes to hours. Vantage systems operate in an active-standby configuration, where, in the event of an active system outage, a standby system is used for immediate recovery to maintain continuity of business operations.

Business Continuity Manager applies the changes to the standby system using either SQL Multicast, which replays the SQL statement on the standby system, or Change Data Multicast (CDM) for non-deterministic SQL where the data applied to the active system is replicated on the standby system.

Business Continuity Manager also provides routing, load-balancing, and failover capabilities that deliver a high level of system availability for reporting, disaster recovery, and business continuity. Two types of routing rules are supported, managed routing for data synchronization and passive routing when data synchronization support is not required, such as generating reports or other types of read access.
